Pattern cutters are the unsung heroes of fashion, yet the importance of pattern-making remains largely underexplored in fashion exhibitions today. 'Exploding Fashion' by @csm_news investigates pattern cutting within 20th century fashion in a bid to to deconstruct the myth of the single designer as sole creative genius. We caught up with curator #AlistairONeill, one of the members of the research team behind 'Exploding Fashion', to discuss the importance of pattern-making, how the research came to life as an exhibition at MoMu and what he thinks audiences expect from fashion exhibitions nowadays.
