Create a guest room that feels like a boutique hotel: 1️⃣ Wall treatment. Unless you have natural sunlight streaming through the windows, white walls aren’t creating a fantasy. Make it feel like an escape for your guests with a fresh paint color or lush wallpaper pattern. 2️⃣ Layered bedding. Give them options with multiple layers of bedding and pillows. I like to add a throw at the end for aesthetics but also for impromptu naps. 3️⃣ Useful accessories. Make sure they have their own mirror, a place to store luggage and - spot to empty pockets at the end of the day. I also love adding fresh water in a decanter for midnight hydration. All of these can double as decor to fill out the space. 4️⃣ Multiple light sources. Yes, overhead lighting is needed but make sure you add bedside reading lights with accessible switches. 5️⃣ Power! There’s nothing worse than sleeping somewhere new and there’s nowhere to charge your electronics. Add a small charging station on the nightstand-bonus points if you include cable options.
