Kitchen of dreams! At the Cornish holiday cottage I’ve been posting recently, we had a lot of fun with the new kitchen. We used some of our office standard detailing for the new joinery - made, as we do often like to do, by a local joinery firm rather than a branded London kitchen company - but then had fun with a slightly unusual colour approach where the frames were painted in a cheery sky blue and the drawer fronts and panels were painted off white. The worktops are in marine plywood with blue Formica tops. It’s so fun. I love taking something familiar and tweaking the dial just a little to make it unique and special to a house - and for this room, it just felt right. We salvaged the old stainless steel sink from the old kitchen which was also perfect. We installed a new floor of oak floorboards, and sourced a nice old oak dresser, a kitchen table, and gloss white painted kitchen chairs. It’s all very simple but sings together. Swipe right to see how this room looked before we began! All beautifully detailed and supervised by @pwdeane in our office.
