I’m feeling inspired lately leaning more into my style and fashion content. Clothes have always meant so much to me, especially when I was younger and couldn’t buy or wear the clothes that matched my self-expression. I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and how those experiences have shaped me today and what I’m interested in. Being an athlete growing up worked in my favor because I could ask for cool [men’s] Nikes or sunglasses, and even though they were from the men’s side, my parents didn’t question those items simply because I was an athlete (and considered a tomboy). But as soon as I [nervously] asked for men’s jeans, hoodies, or shirts, that was all of a sudden WAY different and a hard no. So getting the sneakers was my first taste at wearing men’s items, and began my love for shoes and accessories. Now looking back, those were my first gender-affirming experiences that I remember. I’ve carried that love and desire for self-expression through clothes, shoes, and accessories into adulthood. Just like pre-T to now, I’ve tried hundreds of styles and versions of myself. I’m finally feeling that shift into place like this is where I feel the most me and the most inspired creatively at the same time. I just wanted to share that I’m really happy and excited about this new chapter moving forward with my content and creative outlet through style. There is a lot for me to learn and try out, and I’m so stoked to chase this passion of mine.
