I’ve been postponing putting together this post because I’ve been trying to keep it together. Our baby turned one last week and we had the sweetest time celebrating her all weekend with seeing tons of family and eating LOTS of cake! I’ve started writing letters to Della that she can read when she’s older and thought I’d share this one written for her first birthday. Delaney Louise, The best day of my life, was the day you were born. There is no measure that exists to describe how much I love you. You are so far beyond anything I could have ever dreamt or prayed for. Even though you’ve only been earth side for 365 days, it feels like you’ve always been with me. Now I couldn’t image my life without you in it. The way you smile when you see your dad and me, the way you snuggle us so tight, the way you laugh when we sing your favorite songs - there’s nothing quite like it. There’s nothing that makes my heart more happy than you, my sweet girl. Thank you for picking us to be your parents. It’s a blessing to have this front row seat to watching you grow. Happy first birthday, my angel. Cheers to many many more!
