Front Yard Raised Beds pt. ✌️⁣ ⁣ Once the beds were constructed, it was time to execute the irrigation, soil and planting plans 🤓⁣ ⁣ For irrigation, we dug a one foot trench and laid pipe under each bed with another pipe coming up from the center. This pipe was then cut so that it goes unseen below the cap board, and a sprinkler head with ten individual emitter tubes is the only piece that stays above the soil. It is fully automated and can be controlled from a phone 💦⁣ ⁣ For soil we got a bulk delivery right to the house. Tbh, I wasn’t super thrilled with the quality of the soil, but we are actively amending it over time to make sure the plants stay healthy. Once the beds were filled, it was time to plant 🌱⁣ ⁣ Each bed has a different theme. The first bed is all about herbs. The second has squashes, cakes and other vines, the third bed is a miscellaneous selection of strawberries, eggplant, tomatillo, etc. and the fourth bed is tomato and basil 🍅⁣ ⁣ Nothing better than growing food in your front yard 😎⁣ ⁣ Front yard phase 2 is all about grass removal, and I’ll keep you posted as that develops!⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣⁣ .⁣⁣ .⁣⁣ .⁣ ⁣ .⁣⁣ .⁣⁣ .⁣⁣ .⁣⁣ #FarmerNick #getyourhandsdirty #farmtotable #growsomethinggreen #growyourownfood #urbanfarming #greenthumb #organicgardening #backyardgarden #urbanagriculture #localfood #apartmentfarming #gardenersunited #plants #garden #raisedbedgarden #raisedbeds #frontyardgarden
