If #Santorini, Greece 🇬🇷 is on your #BucketList, keep reading! My time in #Greece was magical! #Island hopping around the country, is something I highly recommend! However, I’d be remiss if I didn’t share that Santorini was the most “challenging” part of my #Greek journey. Based on that, I’ve put together this list of #needtoknow items, as you prepare for your visit to one of the worlds top #tourist destinations: 1️⃣. Leave the heels 👠 at home! Trust me! You won’t need them! The walkways are either marble (which is slippery to walk on) or cobblestone (which can be tricky to navigate in heels). 2️⃣. There are 3 major neighborhoods of Santorini: Oia, Fira & #Thira. #Fira is technically the most touristy, offering the top hotels and restaurants. However, #Oia, where I stayed, is just as beautiful, with less crowds! 3️⃣. Santorini is most famously known for its #caldera! When you see those gorgeous, white picturesque images, that’s how you envision this Greek island to appear. Nevertheless, not every hotel in Santorini, offers these views. Thus, be sure you’re searching accordingly and looking for keywords like #caldera, if you desire to open your eyes to #paradise every morning. 4️⃣. If you do choose to stay where you’ll have views of the caldera, THEN YOU ALSO CHOOSE VIOLENCE in the form of stairs... LOTS & LOTS OF STAIRS! And these are not easy to handle stairs. These are hundreds of years old steep stairs that still have the cobblestone in them. Thus, plan accordingly. All in All, Santorini is lovely. I enjoyed my time, buuuuutttt if you have time in your itinerary, add a few more islands to your Greece visit and thank me later. I can’t wait to return 💛 COMMENT BELOW ⬇️ your Santorini stories!
