As an industry there are a lot of misconceptions... people often think hairdressers are gossipy, party animals who were “too dumb” for college and are just doing this until they get a “real job”. Even when we were making the decision to go to cosmetology school, many of us were met with serious opposition from our parents because they didn’t deem this a serious career. Let’s as an industry commit to elevating the perception because we are none of those things.
