18 years ago today the magnificent #katharinehepburn died at 96 at the home she called “paradise” on the CT shoreline ... there are many adjectives that apply to her: talented, independent, courageous and opinionated are a few. Ever “sensible” as she got older she changed the rules for tennis demanding that her opponent hit it to her or loose the point. She never displayed her 4 Oscars as she felt it was foolish (and impossible) to judge films or performers against one another like gladiators. Whatever else, she is surely irreplaceable ...both for those who loved her from afar and for those of us lucky enough to be along for a bit of the ride... the second photo was taken at the @whitehouse the night she was honored with a @kennedycenter award
