Jeremiah and Marta performing in Kumlinge at a stunning historic church, S:ta Anna Kyrka. These two artists, collaborators, lovebirds, my friends, our connection to Sage/Jannika/Hotel Svala, They managed to create and capture the feeling of the Åland Islands so perfectly and pressed it into an incredible record. Jeremiah incorporated my photos into their album designs - in a booklet alongside conversation text and even on the cover(!!) The album came out earlier this year so this post feels a bit “late”, but the music itself is timeless just like the place it reflects and I’ve been listening to it a lot lately. Also timeliness is not a word I would ever use to describe myself. All that to say, I’ve never had the experience of being able to revisit the memories of a trip in the form of sound and music, and I can’t fully put into words what a gift this album is and to be a part of it.
