In the dining room, we opted for a colour that I love and have used a lot over the years - a lovely, rich, earthy orange that is now an archive colour by @paintandpaperlibrary - The Long Room. It makes a perfect colour for evening, by candlelight, but also in this house had to flow all the way through to the stair hall because there were no natural breaks. So we thought carefully about how it would work in these different lights and situations. Luckily, as I say, it’s a colour I’ve got a lot of confidence in - @bridierhall and I first picked it years ago when the shop @pentreathandhall went orange for a few years (swipe right to see a photo - it’s always so lovely looking back at old pictures of the shop!). We sourced a lovely old housekeepers cupboard which actually acts as the linen store for the whole holiday home, as well as providing supplementary storage for tableware. A pair of original Morris and Co Sussex chairs speak very nicely to the Hans Wegner ebonised dining chairs. Letterpress posters from @t1nsmiths wall lights and candelabra from @theenglishhouselights And a rather special drawing on the wall! 🧡
