Happy birthday to longtime Antone’s keys and guitar man, Mel Brown. Brown backed Bobby “Blue” Bland for years and regularly shared the stage with artists like Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Otis Rush. His Silent Partners recorded for Antone’s Records, and he logged his 10,000 hours with Denny, Derek, Kaz, George, and Sarah at the club on Guadalupe.
