To steal from the great @hunter__foster : the theater is all about family. When you build a show, you create a new family-people you show your vulnerabilities to, who you sweat and cry and laugh with. It’s doubly special at Broadway Vacation because the SHOW is also about family-working on this piece, I got a husband, two kids, and a crazy cousin alongside the fabulous company I worked with every day for 15 weeks to create this new show. And now, it’s time for me to go home and put my energy into my OWN family, which will be growing in just a few weeks. I’m so excited that the spectacular @meganreinking will be taking over the role of Ellen here in Seattle. She’s been right by my side-literally-for the past few months, supporting me and laughing with me, and she’s going to be fabulous in the show. (Swipe to the end for just one of our stupid #twinning backstage videos🤪) Pregnant women and mothers are often treated as untouchables in this industry-a primeval way of thinking that is, SLOWLY, changing. I am beyond grateful to @kendavenportbway, Architect Theatrical, the @the5thavenuetheatre , @donnafeore , and my spectacular company for being leaders in that movement and our industry, and giving me the chance to build our show family while also building my own. To my Griswold crew: I adore you all so much, and I cannot wait to join you again. Now let’s go home. ❤️
