Wow, who is this person posting?? Real talk, things have been not great for a while. My mental health has been absolute garbage and I've been distancing myself from a lot of things that used to bring me joy, like this community.
For the most part, I've been spending all of my time either working or shut in my room. I am **shockingly** a social person and a lot of my friendships seem to have dissolved during the pandemic, so now I feel like I have nothing in my life besides work, which is...deeply depressing. So I'm trying to find my way back to doing things besides working until 9pm and then curling up in the dark to binge watch comfort shows.
One of the things I've been working on is reading more. I used to blow through at least two books per week, but like many my attention span took a dive in 2020. For a while, I stopped reading unless it was something I had to read for work. Now, I'm trying to read the backlog of books I've acquired and neglected in the last two years. Some months I read two books and others I read twelve. It's up and down, but the point is that I'm working on it.
So here's what I would like to know: what are the things that bring you joy?
[ID: A hand reaches up to pull a copy of Mostly Dead Things off a crowded bookshelf at Greedy Reads, an indie bookstore in Baltimore, MD.]
