In this moment it hit me, that we pulled it off. I’m truly humbled to have been a part of this moment for DC. In late September @kingpush hit me saying @pharrell wanted @somethinginthewater out of VA Beach. First thought that popped in my head, was we have to bring it to DC. Through a lot of hard work and collaboration we were able to include and give a large number of local businesses, creatives, community organizations, and students an opportunity to be a part of this beautiful moment as well. I can’t explain the feeling of pride seeing @backyardband in front of that crowd and seeing people of all walks of life rocking @themuseumdc and @themadnessshop. I’m truly thankful for @kingpush and @pharrell for entrusting me as their liaison to this community and Chair of the SITW Advisory Board. From a phone call to a National festival on federal grounds in under 9 months is incredible. Special thanks to @shawnjtownsend @depurrrsia @redrockentertainment and @jbizdc for all their work. Most of all thanks to @murielbowser for ensuring this happened. Thanks for everyone who came out to support. We’ll see y’all next year bigger and better #SITW
