Very sad to hear the news of Norm Macdonald’s passing after his battle with cancer. I was lucky enough to share the stage with this funny man when I hosted #SNL in 1995. I was a baby—early twenties that is—and Norm introduced himself to me on the plane heading from LA to New York when we were both flying out to do the show. He helped to calm my nerves and he reassured me that I could do the scary job of hosting, because of course I had no idea what I was doing. I was grateful to feel like I had at least one friend as I began the most terrifying and exhilarating experience of my career. Norm was daring and smart and hugely funny and I loved the way he did everything with such confidence. I can still picture him with that glint in his eye and his sly smile during Weekend Update. He will be missed. Rest In Peace, Norm. #fkcancer
