Today is International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. Im reminded of the precious moments I was honoured to spend at Acampamento Terra Livre (ATL) - free land camp in April - where people from Indigenous communities from all across Brazil came together and created a beautiful thriving community - a beating heart - in the capital city of Brazil. United in their struggle to defend and protect the natural world, their culture, traditions and ways of life. They intuitively understood, respected and celebrated their differences and created space to share and peacefully organise together, in the face of a government that tries to oppress and undermine them. We have so much to learn from them. Let’s be still and listen.
