(particularly incidious in Germany: Taxation takes a higher rate off the "zuverdiener" (lower income spouse) & then grands the higher income a lower tax bracket. It often is literally the lower income spouses money (this is intended to privilege 1 income couples) and men hiding "their" assets temporarily (often at their new gfs') is common & rarely prosecuted.
