A selection of objects on display highlights a range of disparate but complementary materials. The industrially produced linen phenolic composite, in Marc Newson's "Micarta" Chair, mimics the texture and movement present in the accompanying wood pieces. Interestingly, the Micarta's sensitivity to UV light will deepen the rich tones throughout the lifespan of the chair, creating a converse effect to its counterparts.
