Hey everyone! This is p much the same thing I posted to FB, but big nonetheless!! TLDR: I wrote a 1act play and am directing it so it may be performed live, collaborating with some awesome artists, in conjunction with another great original work by another cool artist! Friday September 18th at 7pm- be there (online) and yes it's free Long post: It's been a rough few months, obviously. Graduating from school during a pandemic was hard, especially after studying a field that seems to have an uncertain future, and taking steps to try to plan said future... even harder. To keep ourselves sane, my classmates and I organized various mobile projects- poetry, playwrighting, improv/writing(dnd)- which were varying degrees of fun, educational, and time consuming. I did have my doubts about zoom theater. This project, however, is much closer to the real thing. (it's not zoom and it's live and has switching capabilities and graphics and... just watch it to find out.) The Lonely 1Acts is a collaboration between artists who yearn for that real "live theater" experience. It's a festival, two 1acts in one night, both original works by myself and my man Matt Smaldone. Meaghan McKiernan has been the one to really get this going, acting as the stage manager and project organizer. Kaia Merrell is our creative director, master of light, costumes, props, and sets. Sarabeth Sabella is sound designer, and then we have two wonderful casts. Its an honor to work with all these talented and good-looking young people. Please come see our show!! It's understandable if you can't donate, as this is an incredibly challenging time, but if you have room to do so, please do!! My play is about a bunch of castaways on an island, some of them astronauts. Both have some serious adult themes and language. Viewer discretion advised.
