SALMON OF POSITIVE ENERGY 🐟 video by @alaskopolis ❤️ this collaboration is very special to me. I wrote this song for my friend Ben last year while he was working on fishing boats in Alaska. He would call me at 1am while it was still light out, trying to stake awake to drive the boat. He always talked about “the salmon of positive energy” a mythical salmon that protects fisherman from danger, and also brings peace and good luck. One morning I was writing music, drinking coffee from a mug he had painted with the words “time is a slippery fish.” The song started from there. Then I sent it to Allie, and once she recorded vocals it was basically game over. I love Ben so much and I’m so happy we get to make things together.
