Home. Landing home in London, it feels implausible that only one month ago we departed for the US, the reverberations from my Prom still coursing through my body. In the last month, we’ve had a whole lot of experiences that felt like different versions of home. I am grateful for them all. ♥️ 1. and 2. My @bbc_proms debut, which felt decidedly unlike home in the traditional sense, but I suppose there was a homecoming of sorts to the part of myself that existed long before I was a mama: the bit that thrives on adrenaline and crowds and risk-taking and riding an orchestral wave of sound 3. A family adventure in my summer teaching home, Staunton, where @heifetzmusic has graciously welcomed @intermissionsessions into its family for the past 6 summers 4. My parents’ home, where our little boy turned 1 and where my little festival @chambermusicbythesea festival turned 7 5. The @wilburtoninn, home to our Intermission Retreats and oh-so-many breakthroughs, happy tears, moments of catharsis, and portals to other beloved souls 6. and 7. Equinox Mountain, home to countless feats of strength and endurance during said Intermission Retreats over the years, plus sweat and camaraderie and views and apparently naps 8. @kripalucenter, my yoga teacher training home 9. @tanglewoodmusiccenter, home to family frolicking from 1988-91, the spark that ignited my performance lust, and connection to my dear Joey Silverstein 10. And, just before our return, a stop at the @twahotel, which felt about as far from home as I could imagine but was VERY COOL and a combo of Mad Men/The Jetsons
