Backpacking trip to Wanless Lake Montana. It was incredible epic and grueling at the same time. We had the whole place to ourselves. Not many people come here because it is so tough to get to. Super proud of my son as this was his first backpacking trip ever and it was hard enough to test me to my limits. Scaling down a 1000 foot shale rock slide was the most difficult part. It took 3 hours and I had to use all my strength to get to the bottom of it only to then hike another 8 miles back. We encountered a bear cub just before the end of our trail. Thank goodness mama bear was not around otherwise things could have gotten pretty serious! Happy to be home and relishing the experience of being in pure untouched nature. Thank god no one got injured, we all had a great time and we are all very proud of ourselves!
