Hey guys! I don’t usually post stuff like this, but I feel like God has put it on my heart to share my story. I have struggled with migraines, stomach problems, chest pains, and sinus issues everyday for as long as I can remember. I was just living my life as a “just have to make it to the end of the day.” I’ve been to so many doctors and was always told I have abdominal migraines. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and I continued to struggle for years. I went through so many tests with Neuro Specialists. Finally, I got results saying I have Horizontal Semicircular Canal Dehiscence (SCDS), a cyst on the palatine nerve, and an extremely narrow sinus nasal airway. The only way to treat SSCD is through a highly invasive surgery that goes through the skull, so we decided to knock out the easy stuff first. Last Tuesday, 11/26/24, I went through a balloon sinuplasty and had my cyst removed. Unfortunately, my doctor noticed that I had no bone between my brain and eye socket; my brain was hanging down pulsating, so he had to make a patch to separate the brain and my eye socket. After a tough, emotional week, we went for my check-up. Of course, my CT scans showed an air bubble and a possible infection in my brain, so I was admitted to the hospital yesterday and had to stay overnight. After more tests and an IV drip, the neurosurgeon identified that I have a hematoma where they made the patch, which was why I was having such a hard recovery. Thankfully, it shrunk in size a little, so I was able to go home. Although I was extremely upset with being admitted into the hospital on my 18th birthday, it was a profound experience for me. It made me realize that I’m not alone in my struggles and that there are always others who have it worse. I am incredibly thankful to God for healing me on His time, and for all the prayers and support (and the flowers and goodies) I have received! Even though I will struggle with these symptoms indefinitely and I have a very long road to recovery, I could not be more blessed to have so much unconditional love and support from family, friends, and medical staff. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Our God is SO good!!! 🤍🤍
