⠀ BRODIE SESSIONS - Day Three ⠀ Today's featured performance: @cosmopyke ⠀ "Usually, a Brodie Session consists of a three camera one-take; the two songs filmed and then the band play a song for the audience while mags are changed. Then we shoot two more songs and then it’s a wrap. We have to fit everything into two rolls for each camera and we don’t do re-takes. The band often performs a few more tracks after that for the audience without us filming, which is always a very unique moment at the sessions with these private extra tracks. ⠀ There are always three camera operators and they are directed to work intuitively and really use their ears as much as their eyes. The music always guides the energy of the camera and we don’t rehearse the movements too much as they should be able to go with their gut feeling while the show is on. ⠀ The DP @jasonidris and I are quite classic in our taste of light, but our gaffer @viggogrumme had an idea about hanging light bulbs that he had talked about a few times. When Cosmo Pyke came up as a possible booking, we instantly thought that this would be the time to try out Viggo’s bulb idea. We decided to mix the warmth from the bulbs with blue background light for contrast.
