When I tell you this morning tea saved my digestion it really did 😭 I’ve had issues with indigestion and bloating ever since I moved to the U.S years ago, and I simply thought it was just the way things will always be and there was nothing I could do to change it. Aside from cutting out processed foods, adding this Ayurvedic recipe to my daily routine has been so incredibly helpful for my health overall. RECIPE: - 2 cups filtered water - 1 tsp cumin seeds - 1 tsp fennel seeds - 1 tsp coriander seeds - 1 inch fresh ginger *use organic ingredients when possible DIRECTIONS: Bring water to a boil, add in all of the ingredients, turn to low heat and steep for 10-15 minutes. Drink in the morning and throughout the day. I don’t strain it and love to just chew on the ginger but feel free to strain it if it’s better suited to your palette! Growing up I remember even in the hot summer days, we would always be drinking piping hot ā€œjeerala vellamā€ aka cumin tea. Now I realize the reason for this was to improve digestion! I’m very particular with the way I consume water and I follow Ayurvedic advice for drinking water such as - never drinking cold water, always room temp or hot - never drinking water with my meals but either 1 hour before or after All of these practices have drastically improved my digestion, health and overall wellness!
