I received an Honorary Doctorate today and I was proud to share the stage with all the graduates receiving their degrees and to say a few words which included the following: You are on that first rung on the ladder of success and I am very proud to share the stage with you. Now you get to go out into the world and make your mark but remember this milestone is the beginning of an exciting new chapter.The university of life means you will always be learning and to become an admired leader requires an army of skills that are critical to success. While most people are hired for their technical and educational success, durability will come from softer skills such as problem solving, positive attitude, adaptability, communication and resilience. Research points out that success in life is about the relentless pursuit of your goals. Do not fear failure only fear not trying and therefore not thriving.
