Let’s talk carbs! I spend a lot of time featuring different restaurant breads in the city, but wanted to roundup my favorite bakery/local bakers breads in the city! Here are seven that you should definitely check out: @iloafyoulic has the most incredible sourdough bread I’ve tried in the city. Christine, the owner of this microbakery, is so sweet and talented! We actually did a feature on her in The Sweethearts newsletter, so check that out to learn more. And give her profile a visit to place an order! @alfbakery has changed the way I think about baguettes. Their laminated baguette (comes plain or with everything bagel seasoning) is worth braving the @chelseamarketny crowd! @partybusbakeshop offers a Sicilian loaf on Sundays, which I’ve previously deemed my favorite bread in the city. It’s perfectly doughy and covered with a generous amount of sesame seeds! @breadstoryny cheese bread is literally chock full of Swiss cheese and then covered with MORE cheese. This little bakery in Stuytown is pretty beloved, and with good reason! @goldstreetnyc offers a variety of challah flavors to order each week. I absolutely adore challah and their sesame za’atar round (not on their current menu but available for special order) is the best challah I’ve ever had! You can order via their Instagram! @eatgotcha was at a recent event I attended and I could not get over how perfect the focaccia was! It was so flavorful. Forgive the photo, as this was a no-light pic, but it’s saying something that these small samples made me a fan! As someone who loves banana bread but doesn’t have the skill or interest in making my own, this is truly the perfect way to satisfy my craving!
