To ensure our efforts in uplifting the Black community continue beyond this group show, we’ll be donating 10% of show sale proceeds to a residency that seeks to do exactly the same. @derrickadamsny’s The Last Resort Artist Retreat (TLRAR) Residency is creating a feedback loop of investment in our community, by using art as a form of therapy and education for young Black creatives in Baltimore. Preparing to open next year, @thelastresortartistretreat strives to support creatives occupying space in the visual, sound-based, movement-based, culinary, and literary arts, as well as entrepreneurs whose interests seek to enrich the arts. Early projects of the organization include The Last Resort Art Garden which debuted at Preakness 147 this spring.
