The Story Of Sean Paul’s Get Busy by @Vice has a segment about the video how it came to be and the why’s and how’s of its importance to the record blowing up world wide. Big up @DuttyPaul this era was special for Toronto, West Indians worldwide and pop culture globally. Of all the videos I directed this is one of my favorites. What it is as a music video on its own is special but what it meant for the city, the young people dancing in it... it means a lot more. Toronto didn’t have these type of things going on back then. It was a chance for the city’s young talented set to show up and show out. Being in a big worldwide hit video was not a thing in the city until I started bringing these videos home. For me these sets where like being a camp councillor. Them days there were two male dance crews. Dainty Crime and Mad Skillz and of course they were rivals. Beef tings! These kids would come to sets and get into physical fights. So for this video I had two guys from each crew do a routine together. After that no more fights on set. A lot of memories of these times and this shoot in particular. Real Toronto tings ya!
