The Couple Shoot. Also known as the 'couple session' or 'couple portraits'. This is the part of the day when myself and your photographer will take you off on your own for a well-earned breather. Even though Aunty Janice may make some snide remark about you being away from your guests for too long, it's well worth spending 20 minutes of your day together just as a couple. And while you're doing that, it only makes sense for us to grab a few shots of you together having a laugh and letting your newfound relationship status settle in. I think a lot of people feel nervous or anxious about this part of a wedding - after all, it's not every day you have two cameras pointed at you while you act 'natural' together. However, what I've found works really well is to give you some little things to do (silly things like guessing the number the other one is thinking) that not only take your mind off the cameras, but also stop you thinking 'what does my face look like? What should I do with my hands?!' Essentially, what I'm doing is creating natural moments between you both, despite the artificial setting, so that your wedding film is as genuine as can be. So don't worry about it!
