How far is too far? Letβs talk about itβ¬οΈ
One of the worst things to happen in lip tattooing is when you go too far outside the lip line. It heals unpredictability and looks fake. ππ
I made this roadmap as a quick demonstration to show how far we are able to extend the lip line before itβs too much. π
In the picture, you can see if you ZOOM IN that right up unto the new border I made, there is lip skin and texture. π
As we age, it is very common that our lips can βshrinkβ and we loose fullness, kind of like a receding hairline. But if you look close the skin for us to use is still there, we just need to add that color back π
When we are able to do this, it restores what was lost, adds fullness, defines the borders, enhances the shape, and gives us opportunity to play around. π
My top tips for doing this extension are:
π never tattoo onto pores or face skin
π never exceed 2mm of added fullness at most
π do NOT extend the shape unless you are sure youβre still on lip skin and not in pores
π use your predraw to help guide you
π on every given person the limits of what you are able to do will be different, work with what the client has, and examine their skin texture
I like to use @tinadaviesprofessional pencils and benefit bo-ing concealer to map and if Iβm not sure if I went to far, I always swipe a small section of my predraw with a q-tip to check where the natural lip line is vs my predraw π
Did you know this was possible?
