Stop checking in on other people’s garden; we all bloom in different seasons.✨ I worked since I was 16 years old, was kicked out of my parents house at 18, put myself through college while working full-time in corporate and part-time as a waitress, had a side gig as a club promoter, and went full-time into blogging in 2015 — with no back-up plan, no savings, no idea what I was doing and I would NEVER recommend you pursue your dreams this way😂 I almost got evicted twice for non payment of rent, I had to take out payday loans to survive, and I fell deeper into my high-functioning depression. I didn’t really make any money the first few years so I took a waitressing job on the side to pay for bills before doing some social media consulting for 3 years. I tried nursing school at one point and spent 1.5 years in grad school for psychotherapy, but both paths ended up not being for me (and that’s ok). I started in this industry when no one knew what a blog was, and no one took you seriously. From writing pitch emails everyday to working after work on the blog every night, to partnering up with dream brands like Crate & Barrel, Microsoft, Tacori, Adidas & being able to travel the world with Celebrity Cruises and stay in hotels like Waldorf Astoria, Four Seasons & Fairmont properties. None of this was luck, and it has never been an easy journey nor a linear one! BUT it has been worth it💕 It’s been 8 years (of being a blogger) and I have to admit that I still really love it. I love writing and capturing moments through my lens, and sharing it with this community. And at 34, I’m not embarrassed to say that I have NO idea what’s next, but Drake said I'm here for a good time, not a long time so let’s make the best of what we have.
