Ladies and gentlemen... Tom The Chippy!!! 👏 Way back before @TomWilliams70 was on the telly for The Olympics, @TheDailyEditionOn7, @DancingWithTheStars, Gladiators and The Great Outdoors and @imacelebrityau, Tom was a Chippy - (Aussie slang for ‘carpenter’). While roofing a house in Coogee, Tom called into a radio show on @Triple_J hosted by @MerrickWatts and @Modernister with an idea about making trailers for granny mobiles (Aussie slang for mobility scooters). It was a genius pitch and #MerrickAndRosso soon put Tom the Chippy into their iconic drive show play book. Then... he got scouted for @Channel7’s #RoomForImprovement and gradually built up a solid media career (including some illustrious stints on @nova_969’s #NudeRadio - as seen in photo two). What we’re trying to say is that when we asked Tom to #StripOffForSkinCancer and inspire Aussies to #GetASkinCheck while raising funds for our national skin check program... he left his tool belt on in homage to his long days on roofs and scaffolding under the harsh Australian sun - like millions of Aussie tradies just like him.
