My uneducated guess is that it mirrors the Japanese Konbini culture that developed as a result of rapid modernization. Likely it’s an expected reaction to the demand for quick and tasty nourishment and product offering that’s convenient (therefore the name) for a growing 12-plus-hours-a-day working population. That’s why everything makes sense. From delicious microwavable charred pork dish to iced Americano served in pouches. There’s no time to waste, and everything has to taste above average.
