5 Five whole years. My recovery looks a lot different now than it did when I first started out on the path of healing. I think life itself looks a lot different for all of us. In the beginning it was creating systems and structures just to get through the day. Over time it expanded and evolved to a deeper understanding of myself, my fears and an altruistic knowledge of who i am. Today, five years later I’ve learned when to pick up new tools when the old tools aren’t working. I learned to pick up new relationships when the old ones no longer support my higher purpose. Most of all I’ve learned not to take myself too seriously, trust the process and wear my recovery like “a loose garment” as they say. Grateful for all the brave souls that have trudged this path along side me and the courage of the ones that helped get me here. #5 #sober #recovery
