Attention NSW residents: You can soon add wine bottles, casks, spirit bottles and other larger drink containers to your Return and Earn collections for more recycling rewards. 🥂 The proposed expansion will see these added to the recycling of beer, cider and other small beverage containers once community consultations wind up in December. Since the program’s 2017 inception, recyclers have earned $800 million in refunds and donated another $35 million to charity. Meanwhile, 755,000 tonnes of materials collected through Return and Earn in NSW has been recycled and drink container litter has been reduced by 52%, according to the state government.
