Last week my mom struck her head in a horrific fall and was hospitalized for two nights. Thankfully she is expected to make a full recovery, but she lost a lot of blood and it will take her at least three months to regain her strength. For years, she has been the full-time caregiver for my dad (advanced stage Parkinson's) and we are taking her injury as a merciful sign from God that her days doing so have come to an end, effective immediately. We are seeking a caregiver to live with my parents in Orange County. This is our long-term goal, but we are also interested in live-in caregivers who might be able to come stay with them immediately but only for the short term, otherwise we will have to put my dad in a board & care facility until we find an at-home caregiver. Chinese preferred, but any leads, referrals and advice navigating this process are greatly appreciated. EDIT: My mom would like to clarify that the caregiver is for my dad only! My wonderful aunt @betty.chiang2 is on her way from Taiwan to supervise my mom's recovery, so both short- and long-term care would be for our Dad only.
