Today is #BellLetsTalk day, a day infamously known for sparking a conversation about mental health and one that inspires many to open up and share their own personal experiences with mental illness. In this past year, we’ve had more conversations about mental health than ever before and have seen the importance of mental health firsthand with the global pandemic that has caused a massive shift in the world and life as we know it. Today, we shed more light on this topic and bring about more conversations, which hopefully translates to ACTION and tangible change in our daily lives.⁣ ⁣ Mental health is more important than ever, with the current pandemic completely changing the way we live our lives and taking away our routines and some of our coping mechanisms. With lockdown, isolation and social distancing, it’s become harder to feel connected to others in the ways we’re used to and many are experiencing loneliness as a result. This has obvious detrimental consequences for our mental health.⁣ ⁣ This means that conversations about mental health this year are more important and urgent than ever before. While we have these conversations all year every year, today we’re joining the conversation by sharing some reminders about mental health, self-care, supporting others, as well as some reminders for recovery and healing. It is our hope that you read these posts and share them with others who you think may find them helpful.⁣ ⁣ As always, please don’t just join the conversation today and forget about it all tomorrow or a month from now. These conversations about something as pertinent and significant as mental health should be constantly occurring in our day to day lives. Here’s your annual reminder to not just post about mental health today, but to BE about mental health every day and live by some of these reminders, ensuring your actions everyday are in line with the messages you see and share today.⁣ ⁣ Here are some important reminders about mental health and what it means. Feel free to share in the comments below what mental health means to you. What does it look like? What does it feel like? How do you achieve it? Please join the conversation and share your ideas.
