TSR STAFF: Saràn Tarawaley @keepingupwithsaran _______________________________ On Wednesday, a law meant to restrict the usage of music lyrics when prosecuting artists was introduced to congress. _______________________________ According to @billboard, the ‘Restoring Artistic Protection Act,’ also known as the RAP Act, would limit when any form of creative or artistic expression could be used as evidence against the person who created it. _______________________________ The bill is the first of its kind at the federal level and mimics recent efforts in California and New York to protect artists and their crafts. This law has been a long time coming but recently re-entered headlines after the arrest of Atlanta rappers #Gunna and #YoungThug.
