Summer is ending ... astronomically speaking. In fact, September 22 is the autumn equinox. Every year, when the Sun crosses the celestial equator in March and September, two particular moments occur: respectively, the vernal equinox and the autumnal equinox. The equinoxes since ancient times have represented a "mystical" moment, as well as purely scientific, a "passage" celebrated in the world and linked to popular traditions. But summer 2022 will be remembered for the great heat, the period of June and July was ranked first among the hottest for the beautiful country, even surpassing the scorching 2003. Thanks to an August that allowed less extreme temperatures, then , we dodged the new summer record but the data remains worrying. Overall, evaluating the climate we experienced throughout the quarter, in fact, the summer of 2022 ranks second among the hottest ever recorded in Italy.
Finally, a detail that concerned our summer holidays that will be remembered as the most expensive of the last 50 years.
In fact, Codacons affirms this, after the latest Istat data which record very high prices for the tourism sector. Starting with travel, domestic flights cost a third more than last year (+ 33.3%) while the fares of international flights more than doubled, marking the record of + 124.1%. The record, however, belongs to European flights whose fares, according to today's Istat data, have risen by + 139%
