I've been hearing this phrase a lot recently: "it's not the camera, it's the photographer" and it really resonated with me. In the times that I feel discouraged for any number of reasons or I get rejected or cancelled on for a shoot I was looking forward to, it's hard not to take it personally and feel like you're not good enough. And in my personal life, I may not have a lot of confidence, but if there's anything in my life I have full faith in myself for and simultaneously surprise myself with, it's my photography. So it's hard to get those rejections and be able to still keep that confidence.
I took that with me this past weekend when I got a rejection for a show that I wanted a photo pass for more than anything. I was discouraged for a bit, I won't lie. But then I remembered that phrase and decided I'd take some on my phone.
I'll stand behind Google Pixels forever. I've never had or seen a camera phone as clear as these and they only get better. So they're not my best, as they're obviously cell phone quality, but I wanted to share the words of wisdom I was reminded of at a time I needed them. I also just really wanted to share a number of my favorites of 5sos in Cincinnati on Monday.

We made the trek from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati to see 5sos on their Take My Hand Tour.
As always 5 Seconds of Summer did not disappoint. From the lights to the graphics to the setlist, everything was intricately thought-out and appealed to fans who have been there since the beginning as well as any fans who have jumped on the bandwagon within the last several years. For me, it was everything I wanted it to be and more. I can't wait to see what they have in store for the next tour 😊💕
