Building on a dialogue sparked in 2020 with the release of the Chuck Taylor All Star Lugged, A-COLD-WALL* and Converse unveil the ACW_CNVS Chuck Taylor 70.⁠ ⁠ At the genesis of this collaboration, Founder and Artistic Director Dr Samuel Ross looks to his peers; exemplary artists and thought-leaders in the global community. What followed is an ode to the pursuit of creative expression, refined items designed to form an integral component within the artist’s uniform.⁠ ⁠ Documenting stories and practices of such artisans, Founding Director of design firm Food New York, architect Dong-Ping Wong, and award-winning industrial designer Nifemi Marcus-Bello. Both artists, masters in their chosen fields, introspectively examine what an icon means to them.
