Got 100kg on the SSB (safety squat bar) and WHEW is it an effort to not let the bar pitch me forward. A few people have asked about this as a variation - which people do for a number of different reasons including injury especially around the shoulders but in my case it’s to improve the technique of keeping my chest upright. I always do these at a lower weight than my normal squat as the camber of the bar makes it harder to handle. This is the final week of maxing out in my off peak program before I start training for a powerlifting competition in December.
