WIP. Kookaburra Birdbox. This nice customer probably sensed I was a bit stretched and really made it clear I could have as much time as I needed. Most of my orders need to be completed fast and generally it has been said that I have ‘no chill’ so for once i thought I’d try pacing myself. I also thought I would pay back the time by really making this one totally awesome, which is when for some reason I really began to struggle with it instead. The bird was carved twice the background repainted like (making it up, not sure) six times. Usually I do things in one hit but something about not being under pressure really wigged out my art radar. I am not sure there’s a positive lesson here for me then but if you’re reading this customer which since you’re always super supportive of my work I imagine you are, we’re basically done! Just waiting for the ‘Final’ coat of oils to dry and I’ll fit it together.
