It is an absolute privilege to have a safe space to call your own & a blessing to wake up everyday with a roof over your head. May we never forget that what we have, no matter how small, is something that others may be praying for so let’s remember to be grateful — even in the toughest times, there is still something to be thankful for🙏🏼✨ Growing up, I never had my own room and shared one with my sister until I was kicked out at the age of 18. I then spent the next 7 years moving, every single year, living with different friends in different areas of LA + OC. I finally got my own space at 25, a 650 sq. ft. studio that had outdated interior and forest green carpet throughout but I happily made the best of it for 7 years because it was only $800 (and that’s completely unheard of in LA county). Even then, there were times I struggled to pay rent and almost got evicted twice when I quit my corporate job to pursue blogging full-time. Fast forward to present day, it’s been almost 3 years since KSOLE & I moved in together. We moved at the start of the pandemic, got engaged after 2 years of living together, and now we’re married! From the beginning, we knew we wanted to furnish with intention & everything in our place has a purpose whether it’s functional or sentimental. We’ve worked hard to create a place where our friends feel welcomed and safe, and where we can unwind and be our authentic selves in.
