Ballet Hispánico, one of America’s Cultural Treasures led by Artistic Director Eduardo Vilaro, is on a mission “to give access and to show artists beyond the stereotypes'' by featuring work from Latinx choreographers and performers, with a huge focus on their vigorous educational outreach programs to further serve the greater Latinx community. Ballet Hispánico is dedicated to embracing all Latinx cultures and communities. In an interview with NPR, Vilaro states “I’m interested in exploring the intersectionality of our diaspora. What is Latinx? And who are we? I’m much more interested in having the art catapult us into dialogues.” The company members serve not just as performers, but work actively in the education sector as well, and are ambassadors of “human kindness and connectivity,” as Vilaro states.
Coming all the way from their home in NYC, Ballet Hispánico will make their Wallis debut this October 7-8, right in the heart of National Hispanic Heritage Month!
Join us in recognizing Ballet Hispánico’s significant contributions to America’s cultural tapestry. Tickets @ TheWallis.org/BH -link in bio.
