Products to help with post inflammatory erythema + post inflammatory hyperpigmentation 🌿💚 I have struggled with post acne marks since a bout of major hormonal acne I had back in 2017/2018. Since my skin has stabilized and I only get minor breakouts now, my main focus has been fading my stubborn hyperpigmentation. Here are some products I use for this purpose- and they’re all budget friendly as well! @hadalabotokyo Perfect Whitening Gel Don’t let the name scare you, this will not whiten your skin. It contains tranexamic acid and vitamin c to help even skin tone and reduce PIH/PIE. This is the most gentle option in this lineup. I like using this as the last step in my PM routine. @regimenlab Level Serum (PR) The brand suggests using this serum after retinol to boost the effects. This is how I use it, and I’m really happy with the results! This is gentle and non-irritating while still effectively fading my dark spots. Key ingredients include niacinimide, tranexamic acid, and alpha arbutin. @theinkeylist Tranexamic Acid Night Treatment I have emptied countless bottles of this treatment. It’s my number one budget recommendation if you are trying to fade hyperpigmentation. It has a somewhat thick, silicone texture so I prefer to use it in my PM routine. It contains tranexamic acid and vitamin c. @cerave_canada Resurfacing Retinol Serum (PR) This is a gentle, yet effective, retinol serum that is easily accessible in Canada and the US. This works well at treating my breakouts and preventing new ones from occurring, in turn preventing new PIE/PIH! @facetheory Lumizela Serum (PR) Another serum that I have used multiple bottles of, and a holy grail product for me. This serum is surprisingly soothing on the skin because of the colloidal oat, aloe, and green tea extracts in the formula. Even though it feels soothing, it definitely puts in the hard work with azelaic acid to fade hyperpigmentation and reduce breakouts. I can’t get enough!
