them choosing to not add that quote in the movie will forever upset me cause it is SO important. it shows us that steve's parents are always in the back of his mind, even when meeting mr tall. he hates his parents and wants to be nothing like them so much to the point of not even calling his mother “mum” anymore. he wants to break away from his family and their cycle and not become like them “the abused becomes the abuser” but it is barely showed in the movie and it is crucial to understanding why he acts the way he does. why is steve so overprotective of darren? he wanted to receive that care and overprotectiveness growing up. why is steve so uncomfortable and suspicious when darren gets bitten? cause that is the only person in his life that he loves and loves him back, so when darren starts distancing himself from steve he starts to spy on him. why is steve so desperate for revenge on darren? he is so deeply betrayed when darren abandons him cause that is what his dad did and with the vampire who said steve has “bad blood” making him feel like he can't escape his own dna and his doomed to be just like his parents, that is why he wants revenge after darren (the only person that he loved) left. steve is a production of the environment he grew up in, no matter how hard he tries to fight it. everyone argues he is the villain but i can't disagree more. steve is the antagonist. along with one of the most misunderstood characters ever, the amount of people that hate him and just don't get him drives me borderline insane. { #iudicz #steveleonard #cdfedit #steveleonardedit #cirquedufreakedit }
