In order to make the sound of Spirit and Opportunity’s machinery as accurate as possible, sound designer Mark Mangini traveled to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab to record audio from doppelgangers of the Mars rovers. He ended up using real sounds the rovers made in #GoodNightOppy.
